![]() Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: What can I expect from counselling? What each person gets from it will be different depending on the issues that brought them into counselling. However you can expect to feel less stressed, more in control of your life, and more at peace with yourself. Q: What are your hours of working? My normal Monday to Friday hours are 9.30am to 6.00pm, but frequently extended to 8.0pm and Saturday morning when needed. Q:What is psychosynthesis? Psychosynthesis is one of several schools of counselling and therapy. The word psychosynthesis is formed from "psyche" which refers to the deepest and most essential part of a human person, and "synthesis" which is about allowing the wholeness of a person to emerge by recognising and including all the elements: body, emotions, mind, and spirit. It is about harmonizing and making whole, and has been called "The psychology with a soul". The psychosynthesis approach is not a pre-set technique which is applied to everyone, whatever their needs. Rather, the counsellor needs to tailor her/his work to the client and find a method that is suitable to them. So although psychosynthesis draws from a wide range of methods found in other approaches, it specialises in adapting the method to the person, not the person to the method. Q: Do you have any special areas of interest or expertise? I do have a special interest in Meditation, since it has had a profound effect on my own life. I therefore hold regular free workshops in Meditation for Beginners and Improvers. This links with my other special interests such as the loss and recovery/discovery of meaning in life. |
